Abartig!

Interesting but may not be ethical It was very interesting to feed the sea turtles. They look well cared for and healthy. The water is not very clean. I have my doubts that they actually serve as a rehabilitation site. This felt a lot like a tourist trap.

A real experience We paid $10 each to go into the aquarium. The guide asked us if we wanted to swim with them and we both said yes. Of the approx 50 people there at the time we visited there were only another 3 people in the water when we were there as most stood on the steps. You could still pet and feed the turtles from the side though. It was an incredible experience. There were a lot of turtles and they did crowd you as you got into the water. This could be made worse by the people on the side throwing seaweed close to you and then you got mobbed by the turtles. They really loved that seaweed! It could definitely be a bit overwhelming and as you swam you constantly brushed into the turtles and worried that you might hurt them. Despite the aquarium saying that the turtles had been injured and were only kept there a short while I'm a bit sceptical of this. The pool seems a little small for the amount of turtles in there. That being said I am really glad I did this.

Natural Pool With Swimming Turtles It's an amazing & interesting place to see these magnificent turtles swimming in a natural pool like thing. You can feed & touch them But please be careful of guides & your operators. To see the other animals, they charge you extra $$$

Do not support this activity!! I would not recommend this activity. My husband and I was at Zanzibar for our honeymoon and booked this experience. When we arrived, the "zoo" was not well maintained. No one managed or supervised our excursion or made sure the turtles were being treated safely and with respect. The staff just let us climb into the water and did not give us proper instruction on how to treat the turtles. The other visitors were screaming and were so afraid of the turtles. The staff thought it would be funny to throw seaweed in the water next to the visitors who were swimming with the turtles - which caused the turtles to swarm to one spot. The visitors who were afraid obviously just tried to get out of the way, which resulted in turtles being pushed out of the way and even perhaps being stepped on. The water is so murky - it's impossible to see whether there are turtles trying to swim past you or not.No one is limiting the amount of people in the water, what food is being given, proper instruction, nothing! My heart felt so bad for the turtles! I did not enjoy this at all! I am going to report the zoo.

Pleasant trip It is commendable that the endangered animals are taken care of. The park itself is very simple, but we had a nice trip and were given a tour.

A little sad Turtles themselves are exciting, the way they are kept much less so. I don't even think there is veterinary care, some had spots on their skin like those seen in aquariums, one died on a stone. The entrance ticket was extremely expensive. And turtles bite anyway.

I don't recommend it. The turtles are in a pond of grayish water that doesn't invite swimming. I did it and I took two moments I don't recommend it. The turtles are in a lake of greyish water which does not invite swimming. I did so and received two bites, which were disinfected on site. Subsequent treatment at the resort with antibacterial cream and anti-rabbit vaccine.

Touching... It was nice to share this moment with the turtles but I think they are not happy and would be better in their natural state

Visit to Baraka Aquarium - Nungwi We visited the Baraka Aquarium with a group of friends visiting Nungwi from Kiwengwa for us not the first time for them Yes, being with children and for their joy we took them to swim with the sea turtles, I didn't go in in the natural lagoon as the water was a bit dirty and I didn't dare, I limited myself to feeding the algae and observing them, although unfortunately, as I love animals very much, I didn't like seeing them touched and moved as many do We were told that they were there because they were freed and bought by fishermen, trapped in nets and saved, the turtles are beautiful and calm, they are splendid creatures, they cost $10 each, it is certainly a unique opportunity and it is always an experience to see so many of them all together.
